In November and December 2024, we at Ocean Package attended two major trade fairs to expand our network and establish new partnerships in the field of reusable packaging. These visits provided us with valuable insights into new industries and helped us advance our goal of a more sustainable e-commerce sector.
December 4: ISPO – Sustainability in the Sports and Outdoor Sector
On December 4, 2024, Philip and Joshua had the opportunity to attend ISPO Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for sports and outdoor, as invited visitors. ISPO provided an ideal platform to connect with inspiring individuals and potential customers from the sports and outdoor sector.
Discussions on Reusable Packaging in Sports E-Commerce
One of the most exciting aspects was exploring the potential for reusable packaging in sports and outdoor e-commerce. As an industry heavily reliant on online orders, there is significant potential to become more sustainable through innovative packaging solutions. Our discussions with potential partners highlighted a growing interest in circular solutions within this segment.
November 27: Heim & Handwerk – Establishing International Connections
Just a week earlier, on November 27, 2024, we attended Heim & Handwerk in Munich as guests of our customer Franky Tree. This trade fair, specializing in topics related to living, construction, and lifestyle, offered us entirely new perspectives.
New Industries and International Companies in Focus
At Heim & Handwerk, we connected with exciting companies that had not been on our radar before. Particularly interesting were international firms that highlighted the global demand for sustainable solutions.
As we are already positioning ourselves internationally, this was a valuable experience. Our discussions with companies from various countries reinforced that reusable packaging is needed across Europe—and in the long run, worldwide—to make e-commerce more innovative and environmentally friendly.
The International Perspective: Why Networking is So Important
Our visits to ISPO and Heim & Handwerk once again highlighted the importance of looking beyond industry boundaries and connecting with companies from various sectors.
Our Goals:
- Cross-Industry Networking: Sustainable packaging solutions are not limited to traditional e-commerce but also play a crucial role in specialized sectors such as sports, outdoor, and lifestyle.
- International Expansion: By collaborating with international partners, we aim to drive our vision of a sustainable packaging economy on a global scale.
- Innovation in E-Commerce: Our mission is to make online commerce more environmentally friendly and efficient through reusable packaging—both in Europe and beyond.
